The Micro-Point Dynamic DNS Service lets you have your own permanent domain name mapped to your dynamic IP address via a Domain Name Server. So you can run ftp, Web, e-mail services and more on your cable and DSL connections.
Most Internet service providers assign dynamic (not static) IP addresses to their small business and home user customers. A dynamic IP address means that every time you connect to your ISP or at certain intervals, your computer's IP address may change. This poses a problem if you want to connect to a PC or Server using a dynamic IP address, since the IP address can change at any time.
Our service solves these issues by allowing you to use an easy-to-remember domain name, instead of an IP address, to help others locate your computer.
The service also constantly monitors any changes in your machine's IP address and updates the domain name-IP address mapping in DNS.
