Try Using 6 Monitors on 2 PC’s in a Retail Store

We are configuring 2 PC’s for use in a retail Tea store. One PC will have two PowerPoint presentations displaying the Menu on 42 inch LCD monitors. The other PC will Run three Flash presentations with features and benefits of their products. Sounds real easy doesn’t it? Well it is not!

PowerPoint will not run two instances unless you use a hack to force it and most flash players either can’t run two instances, or they leave a small undesirable header or footer on the display.

In addition to these issues the PC’s are in the Basement with one monitor and the the rest of the 5 Displays are on the First Floor. It’s difficult to position the correct flash or PowerPoint presentation when you can’t see what your doing!

We have found an excellent product for remote control called Radmin it allows us to see multiple displays on a remote computer. Using this software we have setup remote access to the two presentation PC’s and now we can see all 6 displays from one PC.

This was a rush job and we ended up with XP PC’s and were expecting Vista. While I was checking on the Video Cards I found this statistic on Vista. 40% of all Vista crashes reported to Microsoft are due to Nvidia and ATI video cards!
